Job Summary

The Society wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Financial Analyst that has arisen in the Medical Aid Fund.

Duties and Responsibilities

Analyses financial information/data and create financial models for decision support to the Medical Aid business through performing financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking as guided by International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the Fund strategic objectives
Interrogates business intelligence reports (Power BI Reports) for claims and reports on significant findings to the administration company
Conducts market research, data mining, business intelligence of competitor products and evaluates their product offering relative to Cimas
Evaluates investment project proposals and recommends financially viable business projects.
Reviews audit analytics reports for the Fund and recommends process improvements
Analyses customer feedback reports and review the effectiveness of the business’ financial query resolutions
Works closely with the accounting team and Medical Aid functions in process improvements by developing more streamlined methods for the analysis of data and advanced spreadsheet models to aid in business decisions

Qualifications and Experience

Candidate Requirements
Bachelor of Accounting/ Finance or (equivalent)
Experience in finance with 4-6 years
Excellent verbal and written communication and able to clearly present complex situations.
Ability to negotiate, interact and achieve targets.
Ability to conduct statistical and financial analysis
Interrogates budgets and financial reports and recommends areas for business improvement.
